Mrinmoyee Chatterjee

I’m currently the Senior Social Science Research & Data Analyst at the Institute for Women's Policy Research (IWPR) in Washington, D.C. At IWPR, I help to produce research and analysis on issues related to gender equity in the workforce, health, and education.

I graduated with a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland in 2023, where I studied labor and development economics. My research examines women's employment and fertility decisions in various contexts.

My dissertation explored how the war production effort during World War II dramatically increased the demand for women in previously male-dominated occupations in manufacturing.

I am interested in empirical questions in labor, development and public economics. For more, please see the Research section of my website.
